On the afternoon of April 16, the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism provided information about the Hai Phong Book Street 2025 event. This is the first activity taking place in Hai Phong City in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation (May 13, 1955 – May 13, 2025), the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival – Hai Phong 2025, and Vietnam Book Day (April 21).

Perspective of book street
With the theme “Reading – The Road to Success,” the Book Street will take place over one month (from April 19 to May 20) at Kim Dong Flower Garden – the most beautiful garden in the city center – featuring many unique reading culture activities, such as: a live broadcast of the opening ceremony of Hai Phong Book Street 2025 at 8:15 PM on April 19; a display and introduction space for books with 16 booths and 10,000 book titles from 15 publishers and bookstores, covering a wide variety of topics; a digital library and audiobook experience area; entertainment and recreational spaces at the Book Street.
Additionally, there will be displays and introductions of 1,000 books across five themes: Hai Phong City – Peace, Prosperity and Development; President Ho Chi Minh – His Name Shines Forever; The Communist Party of Vietnam – The Pride of the Nation; The Sacred Sea and Islands of the Homeland; and Digital Transformation. During the series of activities, books will be donated to 10 school libraries in suburban Hai Phong, and six reading culture ambassadors will be honored.
The creation of Book Street and its cultural space aims to promote reading among citizens, especially children and youth, contributing to the development of a reading culture in Hai Phong.
