On October 26th, Hai Phong University, in collaboration with Ibaraki University (Japan), East Siberian State Technological University (Russia), and the Institute of Policy and Development, organized an international seminar on "Innovation and Creativity in Foreign Language Research and Teaching" at Hai Phong University. The seminar was attended by 206 delegates, including scholars, lecturers, and students from the Institute of Policy and Development, Ibaraki University (Japan), East Siberian State Technological University (Russia), as well as faculty members, researchers, and experts from domestic research and educational institutions and businesses. Among the participants were six speakers from the United States, Japan, and Russia.

In his opening speech, the university's leadership emphasized that in the context of globalization and rapid advancements in information technology, the teaching and learning of foreign languages are experiencing profound changes. Traditional teaching methods no longer meet the demands of the 21st century, where language skills must extend beyond communication to include critical thinking, problem-solving, and the use of technology. The university's collaboration with international partners to organize this seminar on innovation and creativity in foreign language research and teaching aimed to discuss and share best practices and new ideas to improve the quality of foreign language education, meeting the growing needs of modern society and helping learners develop essential language skills in a comprehensive manner.
The seminar also provided an opportunity for lecturers and researchers to present their latest studies and receive feedback from leading experts. Many lively discussions took place, focusing on how to effectively apply these innovations in language teaching practice.
