Construction units instaliing wind turbine blades on Bach Long Vi Island.
(HPDT)- Mr. Hoang Van Hung, Deputy Director of Power Development Project Management Board (under the Northern Power Corporation) said: On November 30, 2021, construction units have successfully installed wind turbine blades, the final construction stage of wind power project on Bach Long Vi Island, marking the completion of the project Investor and related units are directing, organizing the system testing and operation guide. It is expected that the acceptance and hand-over work will be held to put into operation in December 2021.

The Wind power project providing electricty to Bach Long Vi Island District, Hai Phong City in the period of 2015-2020 was approved by Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2019, in which the Investor is the Northern Electricity Corporation, the Project Management Unit is Electricity Development Project Management Board whereas the joint venture AIT-MECTA-PECC1 is in charge of design, materials and equipment supply, construction. Management and Operation Unit is Hai Phong Electricity One Member Limited Company.
Power Development Project Management Board and construction units have completed and installed all equipment of wind power project on Bach Long Vi Island.
The project aims at providing stable, continuous and unlimited electricity, meeting the needs in daily life, production and tourism services of local households, businesses and other units on island; creating a driving force for the development of light industries, supporting industries for developing marine economy and tourism activities. At the same time, the Project enables Bach Long Vi Island to be qualified as a center of fishery processing, logistics, search and rescue for the northern coastal provinces, ensuring the sustainable development and marine environment protection, affirming the sea and island sovereignty of Fatherland.
The scope of investment and construction project includes: building a new wind turbine with a capacity of 01MW, a new solar farm with an installed capacity of 504kWp; installing 2 new generators with capacity of 1000KVA; battery storage system with capacity of 630kVA/2000kVAh; 0.4kV distribution cabinet system, generator synchronization system, microgrid system... The project has been under construction since the end of 2020.
According to Mr. Hoang Van Hung, Deputy Director of Power Development Project Management Board, the construction encountered many difficulties because of remoteness , weather conditions, difficulties in travelling and 03 month interruption due to COVID-19 pandemic. However, Investor and construction units made endeavour to overcome all difficulties and transport hundred tons of equipment to the Island; successfully organize the installation, ensure the quality and technical requirements in line with those of Ministry of Industry and Trade, Electricity of Vietnam Group, the Northern Electricity Corporation, guarantee adequate power supply, long-term stability for people and forces on Bach Long Vi Island.
