Welcoming the Ambassador to Hai Phong city, the Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Bulgaria in general and Hai Phong in particular has been established for more than 70 years and is increasingly strong and better. Providing information on the socio-economic situation, the Chairman of the City People's Committee said that Hai Phong is the third largest city in Vietnam, the main gateway to the world by sea. At the same time, with advantages in geographical location, infrastructure and always paying attention to developing strong fields, the city is currently an attractive destination for many foreign investors, with about 1,000 FDI projects invested in the city with a total capital of nearly 31 billion USD.
Thanking the city leaders for their warm welcome, the Ambassador shared the damage caused by super typhoon Yagi to Hai Phong, and expressed his impression of the city's development and rapid recovery after the storm. The Ambassador informed about the possibility of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, making a working visit to Vietnam in November to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Ambassador hoped that the visit would strengthen the friendly relationship and promote trade cooperation between the two countries in areas such as energy, high technology, health, education, etc. The Ambassador also shared that the Presidential Delegation would include representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Enterprises and representatives of enterprises to learn about the investment and business environment and investment attraction policies of Vietnam in general and of Hai Phong city in particular.
