Chairman of National Assembly Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue attended the groundbreaking ceremony for PBAT compostable resin plant

Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo Member, Chairman of the National Assembly and delegates of the Central Committee and the City performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on constructing PBAT compostable resin plant at Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park.

In the framework of his new year working visit toHai Phong, on the morning of February 9, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo Member, Chairman of the National Assembly attended the groundbreaking ceremony for PBAT compostable resin plant of An Phat Holdings at Dinh Vu Industrial Park (Hai An District).

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Le Anh Quan, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed: In the past year 2021, the City had well implemented the "dual goals” of effective disease prevention and control for people health protection, and socio-economic development. In 2022, the City would continue the goal of safe and flexible adaptation, effective control of COVID-19 epidemic, protection of people health and promotion of socio-economic development; continue to innovate growth model, restructure economy towards the development of 3 pillars: high-tech industry; seaport, logistics; tourism and commerce, in which, the main economic indicators were set out at quite high levels: GRDP growth rate increased by at least 13% compared to 2021; Index of Industrial Production increased by 19-20%; the proportion of processing and manufacturing industry in GRDP growth reached more than 46%; the value proportion of industrial and high-tech products in the processing and manufacturing industry reached 53%... In order to achieve those development goals, the attraction of resources and investment projects would be of great significance to the City.

Mr. Le Anh Quan, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee gave a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Mr. Le Anh Quan welcomed and congratulated An Phat Holdings on the groundbreaking of PBAT compostable resin plant. This is a project with high technology, and environmentally friendly requirement, to minimize adverse impact of single-use plastic products, contribute to the fulfillment of Vietnam's commitment at the international climate summit. This is also a project in line with the high-tech industry development orientation of Hai Phong City in 2022 and the following years. He suggested that investor urgently carry out procedures in accordance with the requirements of investment registration certificate to start construction soon in the first quarter of 2022 and put whole project into operation in 2024. The City committed to creating all favorable conditions, direct Economic Zone Authority and relavant departments to closely coordinate and support the investor in implementing and operating the project.

PBAT compostable resin plant is the first green material factory in Southeast Asia, among the high-tech projects prioritized for investment, located in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park with a capacity of 30,000 tons/year, designed and built by the world's leading technology group Technip Zimmer (Germany), expected to be completed after 24 months, with a total investment of 120 million USD. The factory was expected to meet 100% of raw material needs of An Phat Holdings, and export targets as well. With modern technology and machinery, factory performance would be optimized at very high level with an average operating time of 8,400 hours, equivalent to 350 days/year. The factory also achieves a high level of automation, expected to create jobs for about 200 high-quality workers.
