Award ceremony of contest & exhibition “fatherland along the waves”

On the 18 December, 2023 evening, at Hai Phong Theater Square, the Central Department of Propaganda and Training coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Vietnam Photography Artists’ Association organized the award ceremony of the national art photography contest and exhibition with the theme of "Fatherland along the waves" for the 2nd time.

"Fatherland along the waves" is the common name for all works of the propaganda project on Vietnam's seas and islands, which has been implemented by the Central Department of Propaganda and Training since 2021, to introduce and promote the potentials and beauty of nature and people in Vietnam's seas and islands to the art-lovers at home and abroad. This year's contest received 9,595 works from 2,590 authors from all provinces and cities in Vietnam.

The Jury Council selected 22 works to award prizes and 132 works to display at the exhibition. The works are meticulously created, closely following the contest theme, with creative thinking, many new and impressive shooting angles, showing the potentials and beauty of Vietnam's seas and islands, love for the country and homeland, the attachment of generations of Vietnamese people to the sea and islands of the Fatherland, exploiting and developing Vietnam's tourism potential, improving the ecological environment of marine and coastal areas; further promoting the unique cultural values ​​of the maritime community, the achievements in economic, cultural, social development, national defense and security on seas and islands of the homeland in the context of deep integration.
