On the morning of August 17, in Vientiane Capital, Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Saleumsay Kommasith within the framework of the working visit to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos on economic diplomacy.

At the meeting, the two sides shared experiences on implementing the two foreign ministries’ Agreement and the Cooperation program on promoting economic diplomacy in the period of 2021-2025, highly appreciating the efforts and contribution of two foreign ministries to promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos over the past time, especially in maintaining delegation exchanges, high-level contacts and bilateral cooperation mechanisms, successfully organizing events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the Treaty of and Cooperation between the two countries.

At the same day, the working delegation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Assistant to Minister Nguyen Minh Hang coordinated with the Economic Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos to organize a seminar on exchanging economic diplomatic experiences between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs and a Workshop themed "synchronou and effective economic diplomacy for the national economic recovery and development" with the participation of nearly 100 leaders of ministries, branches and 17 localities of Laos.

At the workshop, representatives of the two foreign ministries discussed the world economic situation, the challenges two countries' economies were facing, new development opportunities; measures for synchronous and comprehensive economic diplomacy promotion.

The delegates of the two countries highly agreed on the importance of economic diplomacy in socio-economic recovery and development, in which they all affirm the need to intensify the research on the pratical situation, requirements and timely reform with socio-political synergy for better performance in economic diplomacy.
