On the afternoon of December 23, Mr. Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, inspected the progress of several industrial development projects in industrial parks and economic zones.
He inspected the Ecovance High-Tech Biodegradable Materials Factory Project at Dinh Vu Industrial Park, which began construction on May 11, 2024, with a total investment of $500 million. The investor is Ecovance Vietnam Co., Ltd., part of SK Group from South Korea. This project involves the production of biodegradable plastic materials and related raw materials in bioplastic production. As of now, the project has achieved 61% progress.

The USI Manufacturing Plant Project, Phase 2, in Dinh Vu Industrial Park, commenced on April 10, 2024, and is currently undergoing intensive construction. The construction progress has reached 80%, the electrical and fire prevention system 85%, and technical infrastructure 30%. The project is expected to complete construction in March 2025. This project focuses on manufacturing and assembling electronic circuit boards, wearable devices, smart handheld devices, consumer electronics, and components such as computer peripherals and communication devices. The total investment for the project is $215 million.
After inspecting the sites and listening to reports, Mr. Le Trung Kien acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the investors in ensuring the progress and quality of the projects, demonstrating their determination to put them into operation promptly. He emphasized that these projects are significant for the development of high-tech industries, particularly in semiconductors and environmentally friendly products, which are of great interest to the city leadership. The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority is committed to supporting and creating all favorable conditions for the implementation of these projects.
Mr. Le Trung Kien urged the investors to focus their manpower, resources, and equipment to bring the two projects into operation in 2025, as a practical contribution to the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong's Liberation and the 17th City Party Congress. He also emphasized that these projects are exemplary models of cooperation between Hai Phong and countries in the region. Regarding the proposals and requests from investors, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority will receive and coordinate to address them as quickly as possible to meet the requirements for the completion and operation of the factories.
