Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho requested the whole District political system to mobilize aquaculture establishments to complete the dismantling of cages in the bays of Cat Ba archipelago before December 31, 2022, after his inspection on the morning of October 4.
The district has paid financial support for 286/440 establishments in which 245 establishments have received financial assistance for complete dismantling, 35 establishments partial dismantling and 06 establishments have dismantled on their own without any financial support. 280/440 had done dismantling. Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho acknowledged Cat Hai District’s considerable effort in dismantling the aquaculture cages. However, the implementation progress was still slow. He requested Cat Hai District to calculate the precise remaining aquaculture products of the establishments to be dismantled, fostering close collaboration with Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for a specific product consumption support plan.
The Vice Chairman also directed Cat Hai District to urgently inspect and record aquaculture establishments with administrative violations, issuing a decision on administrative punishments. Those who do not comply with the decision would be forced to implement in December 2022.
