A Warm Visit and Gift-Giving Program for Agent Orange Victims on the Occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tết Bính Ngọ)

On the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year, responding to the call from the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the City Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of Hai Phong City collaborated with the Korean Chamber of Commerce (KOCHAM) and the City Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims to organize a meaningful gift-giving program for Agent Orange victims.

Spreading the Spirit of Mutual Support The program took place on the morning of February 11, 2026, with the participation of leaders from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Union of Friendship Organizations, and relevant associations. At the Bach Dang Club, the delegation completed procedures to present Lunar New Year gifts to 15 members from Vinh Hai commune.

Subsequently, two working groups directly visited and presented gifts to families of victims in particularly difficult circumstances in Hong Bang and Ngo Quyen districts. At each location, delegation members inquired about the health and lives of the families and wished them a warm and happy new spring.

Practical Support from the Business Community Through the active mobilization of the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association, member businesses and KOCHAM in Hai Phong contributed practical funding:

  • Cash Gifts: A total of 60,000,000 VND (Sixty million VND) was awarded to 25 individuals. This included 10 spots in Hong Bang and Ngo Quyen districts worth 3,000,000 VND per spot, and 15 spots in Vinh Hai commune worth 2,000,000 VND per spot.
  • In-kind Gifts: 60 gifts with a total value of 15,000,000 VND (each recipient received 02 gifts).

To recognize these valuable contributions, the Organizing Committee presented "Golden Heart Recognition Boards" to the Korean Chamber of Commerce (KOCHAM) in Hai Phong and the Vietnam - Korea Business Club of Hai Phong City.

The program brought not only material joy but also significant spiritual encouragement, helping Agent Orange victims alleviate their pain and feel the care and sharing of society and the strong friendship between the people and businesses of Vietnam and South Korea.
