(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of March 21, the Art Council and the Selection Committee of Cat Bi Victory monument Design Contest organized the assessment of preliminary entries.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Khac Nam - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Head of the Contest’s Organizing Committee said: Cat Bi victory was the glorious success of Hai Phong city’s Army and People, contributing to the country’s famous Dien Bien Phu known worldwide as “resounding throughout five continents, stirring up the world”. With its great significance in history and culture, the City always reserve a place to build Cat Bi victory monument, which was considered as a greeting of a dynamic city to visitors.

In accordance with the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee’s request, Department of Culture and Sports had organized the launching ceremony and deployed communication activities nationwide. After 2 months of the launching ceremony, on March 17, 2022, 13 entries were sent to the Department, the Standing Agency of the Organizing Committee. The city leaders asked members of the Art Council and the Selection Committee to assess the entries with all of their love and responsibility to ensure the objectivity, fairness, and accuracy, aiming at building a special, century-long work for the next generations.

At the meeting, members of the Art Council and the Selection Committee thoroughly examined each sketch pattern and the explanation of artistic ideas to choose outstanding works of adequate ideological, artistic and architectural properties for the next round.
