11 Contestants Win Awards at the Final Round of the 9th Japanese Speech Contest

On the morning of March 16, at the Hai Phong City Convention Center, the Department of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Japanese Business Association – Hai Phong Chapter, organized the final round of the 9th Japanese Speech Contest – Hai Phong 2025. This meaningful event aimed to promote cultural exchange, encourage Japanese language learning, and strengthen the friendship between Hai Phong and Japan.

Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Hosoki Eiichi, Chairman of the Japanese Business Association in Vietnam – Hai Phong Branch; along with representatives of various departments, agencies, and related organizations.

This year’s contest attracted many participants from secondary schools, high schools, and Japanese enterprises operating in the city. After the preliminary round, the organizers selected 11 outstanding contestants to compete in the final round. The finalists were divided into two groups and delivered speeches expressing their views and understanding on topics such as dreams for the future, the Vietnam–Japan friendship and cooperation, connecting international friends, and friendship. They also responded directly to questions from the judging panel to complete their presentations.

At the end of the contest, the organizers awarded 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes to outstanding contestants from both groups. The contest served not only as a valuable platform for Japanese language enthusiasts but also as a cultural bridge enhancing mutual understanding and connections between the people of Hai Phong and the Japanese community living and working in the city.
