On the afternoon of 15 September 2026, Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Trang, Director of the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs, received and held a working session with Mr. Park Byung-Hun, Secretary General of the Korea Energy Management System Industry Association (Korea EMS Association), during the Association’s working visit to Hai Phong.
The Korea EMS Association is a non-profit organization operating in the field of energy management and energy efficiency, bringing together businesses and organizations engaged in energy management, smart factories and industrial parks, construction, architectural design, and information and communications technology. The Association seeks to promote efficient energy use, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and facilitate the application of technologies for smart and sustainable urban development.
In recent years, the Korea EMS Association has actively facilitated connections between Korean businesses and organizations and Hai Phong in the fields of technology, energy and smart urban development. In December 2024, a delegation from the Association held a working session with Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People’s Committee, and relevant agencies to discuss the potential application of Korean technologies to support smart urban development.
Since then, the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs has coordinated with the Korea EMS Association to promote connections between the city’s agencies and organizations and Korean businesses and research institutions. In August 2026, during a working visit to the Republic of Korea by a high-level delegation from Hai Phong City, city leaders continued discussions with the Korea EMS Association and its member companies on cooperation in smart infrastructure, digital transformation, green transition and energy efficiency.
